Bridges
“Excellent physical & aesthetic properties can be achieved using the latest techniques”
A ceramic bridge is used to replace any tooth that is missing or beyond repair. It is individually made to match the shade and contour of your natural teeth. There are two methods we use to replace missing teeth with a bridge, depending on your individual dental needs. In both cases the ceramic bridge looks and feels like a natural tooth.

1. Bridge on natural teeth
A bridge to replace a gap in between your existing natural teeth consists of high strength dental ceramic. Built with natural looking replacement teeth, the bridge is anchored to the adjacent teeth. To secure the bridge the adjacent teeth must be reduced in size or prepared to accommodate the bridge structure. Certain conditions are required when this method is used and continued bone loss will occur under the replacement tooth.

2. Bridge on implants
A bridge which is secured on to implants is used when natural teeth are not present or unsuitable. A durable, high strength dental ceramic bridge, with natural looking replacement teeth is securely positioned on to previously placed dental implants. Healthy adjacent teeth are left untouched. Dental implants are strong, biocompatible fixtures made of titanium, which act just like natural tooth roots.
Ceramic Crowns
“Strong, beautiful teeth, custom designed using high quality ceramic”
Ceramic crowns or inlays are recommended when a tooth requires a restoration that not only fills a cavity but also is needed to support the remaining tooth structure. The ceramic restoration is custom designed using state of the art Cerec CAD/CAM technology to perfectly match your tooth. This means that Cerec inlays and crowns, using Emax ceramic blocks are able to be completed in a single visit. Emax ceramic blocks are metal free and are three times the strength of commonly used ceramic. We eliminate the need for impressions, temporary crowns and follow up appointments. We also hand shade, glaze and crystallize your ceramic restoration in a porcelain oven. This added feature gives your tooth the look and feel of a natural tooth and increases its strength three fold.

Crowns encase the entire prepared tooth and are commonly used on teeth that have been heavily restored in the past. The crown replaces the very outer enamel surface of a tooth to provide the remainder of the tooth with the strength to remain functional long term. Crowns can also be used on anterior teeth that have been heavily restored or misshapen to achieve a more desirable cosmetic appearance.

Inlays are used when a tooth requires a long term restoration to support and strengthen the remaining tooth structure, whilst leaving as much healthy tooth as possible. The inlay is bonded to the tooth, whereas a typical restoration merely fills the cavity space, leaving the tooth susceptible to further breakage and damage. Ceramic inlays are commonly used to replace old amalgam fillings in back teeth that break down over time or if a large portion of the tooth has been broken.
Cosmetic dentistry
“Sometimes, wanting a beautiful smile doesn’t need to be justified or explained. How it makes you feel is reason enough”
With the use of today’s modern technology and techniques we are able to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing and desirable appearance to a patient’s smile. The reasons behind choosing cosmetic dentistry are varied. Whether your teeth are damaged by trauma, discoloured and weakened by multiple restorations, or the natural shape and alignment of your teeth is poor, smile imperfections can make you self conscious and less likely to smile your greatest smile.
We have been privileged to witness firsthand the pleasure and boost in self confidence when cosmetic dentistry has been completed. A bright, healthy smile can create one of the most lasting impressions on people.

Following an exam appointment an itemised treatment plan can be provided to you outlining the dental treatment recommended to complete your ‘smile makeover’. This may include a combination of Crowns, Veneers and Resin restorations. Where teeth are missing Implants or Ceramic bridges are used. A full day of our clinic time will be set aside just for you or where possible we can split the appointments to suit your schedule.
Implants
“Dental Implants provide an opportunity for you to take back your smile”
Dental implants are artificial roots made from biocompatible materials that serve as a replacement for missing teeth. Titanium is currently the most suitable implant material. With proper care and good oral hygiene your implant can actually last a lifetime. Once the required fusion of the bone has been achieved the ceramic crown can be fixed to the implant to feel and function like natural teeth. Multiple implants can be used to successfully replace missing teeth.

After a thorough examination of your medical and dental history we can advise you on whether dental implants are the right solution for you. The main deciding factor is that the jaw is mature and that there is sufficient good, healthy bone to permit placement. In some cases it is possible for the bone to be built up; bone grafting can be an option if the amount of bone is inadequate. It is essential that the gum and bone area are free from inflammation (periodontitis) and that any decay in the remaining natural teeth is treated.

The colour, shape and contour of the replacement ceramic teeth placed on the implants are customised and adapted to match that of your natural teeth. Maintaining natural bone is a significant factor with implant placement. Following extractions dental implants prevent further shrinkage of the jawbone and stimulate bone growth.
At Park Terrace Dental implants are placed under local anaesthesia with careful preparation and execution, the treatment concludes with after care instructions given and a follow up appointment scheduled to review the implant prior to the final stage. Once this integration phase has been successfully concluded, the final placement tooth can be attached.

“Our goal is to ensure you leave our treatment room satisfied and comfortable with beautiful, functional teeth and a renewed quality of life”
Restorative – tooth coloured fillings
A composite filling is a tooth-coloured plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed or broken teeth. Composites are also used for cosmetic improvements of the smile by changing the colour of the teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth. We choose a shade that best matches your natural tooth colour or a shade that will change and improve the overall appearance of your teeth.

Following preparation, the dentist places the composite in layers; each layer is cured, typically using a specialized light to harden each layer. During this process, the dentist will shape the composite to fit the tooth. The dentist then polishes the composite to prevent staining and early wear.
Veneers
“Patients can be assured that Dr Damian Chung has the experience, skill and artistic abilities”
Ceramic veneers are thin laminates of tooth coloured ceramic that are custom made to cover the front surface of your teeth. At Park Terrace Dental we use high quality and high strength E.max ceramic blocks to produce your veneers.
Emax veneers are a form of high strength porcelain veneers that are custom made and bonded to teeth to improve the aesthetics of the teeth or to enhance their function. Emax veneers have very high strength and durability making it possible to produce them in very thin layers, allowing little or no preparation (drilling) of the teeth. This is one of the biggest advantages of Emax veneers.
Patients can be assured that Dr Damian Chung has the experience, skill and artistic abilities to successfully produce aesthetically pleasing results for you. We source the best quality materials to produce your ceramic veneers and use the latest technologies and equipment.
Whitening
“Visibly whiter teeth in 3 – 5 days, easy 30 minutes once a day wear time”
At Park Terrace Dental we recommend and supply Tray-based tooth bleaching systems. With this safe and tooth friendly whitening option, a comfortable, small, mouth guard-like tray is made for your upper and lower teeth for you to use at home. The trays are then filled with a peroxide-based bleaching gel and placed over the teeth for 30 minutes once a day for up to four weeks. These custom-fitted trays and a whitening gel kit will have you smiling your brightest smile in no time.
We avoid the use of highly concentrated in-clinic bleaching systems as we deem them to be unnecessarily aggressive on teeth.
